Research
Scientific
research provides the basis for the conservation of endangered species
and for the longterm preservation and restoration of ecosystems
and protected areas. We offer research capabilities on purely scientific
aspects of wildlife biology as well as on topics directly related
to management and conservation.
Deployment
of state-of-the-art technology During many years of wildlife
research we have always aimed at keeping track with the development
of new and sophisticated research technologies and to obtain the
best possible results by applying such methods. Among those are
high-tec methods for communication and data transmission used during
expeditions, digital data loggers used during behavioural studies
and for recording climate data, satellite tracking with solar powered
PTTs and GPS transmitters for the study of bird migration, and methods
of remote sensing. For the analysis of ecological data and bird
migration locations we use satellite imagery and digital maps and
apply various specialised computer software programs.
Field
research worldwide We have worked during the past 20 years
on contracts in more than 30 countries in Europe, Africa, Asia and
the Middle East. Our close contacts to specialist scientists of
varying disciplines in most countries proved to be very valuable
during these projects. Research subjects ranged from limnological
surveys to large mammal studies. In recent years focus of our work
was on projects about long distance bird migration (using satellite
telemetry and remote sensing) and on research about the functioning
of arid and semiarid ecosystems.
Professional
reporting We always put much effort into the preparation
of our research reports. We aim at presenting the results precisely
and in a readable manner, printing them in an attractive layout,
with professionally styled graphics, maps and photographs. We believe
that an attractive presentation of results should be an important
and integrative part of each research project. Our research reports
are perfectly suited for presentation to fastidious readers, and
in many cases they can directly be used as mastercopies for printing
books and brochures.
